best camera to use for remote triggering ????

hi, what do you think would be the best / easiest digital camera to modify
for remote triggering ? i want to take pictures about 5 to 15 minutes (
max) apart.
but am worried about the camera turning off in between the shots . which
is normal when not in use for long periods of time.

My Nikon D5000 will do time-lapse photography, is this what you mean?
